Planning Similar Work

A screen and recoat lightly abrades an existing compatible finish before a fresh polyurethane coat is applied. This is different from full sanding and restaining. Deep scratches, exposed wood, incompatible coatings and a desired color change require a separate assessment; cleaning or recoating cannot correct every kind of damage.

Before You Plan Your Project

Is Screen And Recoat The Same As Sanding And Refinishing?

No. Screen and recoat renews a compatible existing finish. Sanding removes finish and wood at a deeper level and may be needed for a color change or substantial damage. We assess which approach is appropriate before defining the work.

For your assessment, tell us the surface material, current condition and products previously used. An optional photo helps us understand your space. Treatment and pricing are confirmed after review; results depend on the individual surface.

In-home consultations are $50. Appointment dates and times are arranged separately.
